Deep Tide - Carved Maple Bowl with India Ink and Blue Epoxy

$170.00
sold out

Available exclusively at 6311Arts Gallery.

Hand-turned from figured maple, this 9-7/8-inch bowl sets quiet contrast at its heart. The smooth interior opens to reveal the wood's natural figure, where waves of curl ripple across the bottom and wrap upward around the walls, catching the light in shifting bands of warm, honeyed tone. Around the outside, a hand-carved surface of overlapping scallops wraps the form in rhythmic texture, the wood dyed deep and dark with India ink while each carved hollow is filled with blue epoxy that shimmers and moves in the light, pooling glass-smooth against the matte carving. Where the carved exterior meets the untouched rim, pale maple traces a crisp, deliberate line. Finished with a food-safe hard oil wax, the surface holds a soft luster that balances organic warmth with sculptural intent.

9-7/8 inches x 2-1/2 inches.

A dialogue of nature and hand - where carved rhythm and flowing figure meet in striking contrast.
