Carved Maple Bowl in Black and Teal

$170.00
sold out

Available exclusively at 6311Arts Gallery.

Hand-turned from maple, this 8-inch bowl brings depth and color into quiet conversation. The exterior is dyed a deep black with India ink, then hand-carved in rows of overlapping scallops that catch the light and reveal soft teal in their hollows, lending the surface a rhythmic, almost woven texture. A crisp band of pale maple traces the rim, where the dark carved wall gives way to an interior washed in rich teal milk paint. Where black, teal, and bare wood meet, the piece finds its balance. Finished with a food-safe hard oil wax, the surface holds a smooth, even luster that deepens both the color and the carving.

8 inches x 3-3/4 inches.

A meeting of shadow and sea - where carved rhythm and layered color come together in quiet harmony.
